This house belongs to an American businessman called Jim Thompson who contributed to reviving the Thai Silk industry, from the 1950s-1960s. The museum comprises a collection Thai style houses and his belongings like furniture, Southeast Asian art and antiques, etc. The house is a fine example of traditional Thai-style house and is surrounded by a beautiful garden. In 1967 Jim Thompson disappeared in Malaysia, but his inheritance remains, which have been converted into a museum.
